Anointed To Know And Celebrate

Do Christians know why we celebrate Christmas, The Resurrection, and Pentecost? Of course, we know what the commercialized promotions of these original events offer, but it is more important and beneficial to know the spiritual significance of these celebrations. What did God desire to give us through the execution of such events? If we have chosen to receive the Spirit which is from God (and not the spirit of the world), then it is possible for us to know the things that God has freely given to us. Let’s think about and consider each of these celebrations from God’s perspective.

First, how should we reflect upon Christmas? When Adam and Eve sinned, all of creation suffered. Satan became the god of this world and every good thing was taken from man…except hope that is. Because of the judgment that was decreed against the devil, man could hope that one day the seed of the woman would crush the head ( or the authority ) of Satan. In the spirit, David saw Jesus announcing his delight to do God’s will by coming to earth to sanctify and to restore man back to God. Jesus humbled himself and made himself of no reputation, in order to obey his Father and redeem man back to God. Each time we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, we rejoice in the faithfulness of our God to keep his promise to send the seed of the woman. The angels rejoiced along with the shepherds, the wise men, and the prophets in the temple. Let your celebration of Christmas be done as unashamedly as David’s, when he danced with all of his might before the Lord. Many religious spirits are emerging and trying to hold the righteous in contempt because of our commitment to celebrate the birth of Christ. But we turn away from them and rejoice even more because we are thankful that we no longer have to accept the devil as the ruler over us, and we know it.

Secondly, The Resurrection shows us that the power of God raised Jesus from that dead, When that happened, the devil was shamed in front of all of the spiritual beings in heaven, in earth, and underneath the earth. Satan was paraded through the streets of eternity as a defeated foe. Jesus spoiled (or took away everything from) him, everything that he could use against us, to accuse us, or to make us guilty. God placed Jesus far above all principalities, power, might, dominion, and every name in this world and the world to come, and all things are under Jesus’ feet. With that, the law was established. Jesus was manifested (shown or revealed) so that he might destroy the works of the devil. We celebrate the Resurrection by living our life like we have the right to execute that law, and we prove to Satan and all of his workers that they are defeated. The realm of darkness desires that we never know the power of this celebration, but because the Spirit of our Father has revealed it to us, we have been anointed to know it.

Finally, we celebrate Pentecost because Christ fulfilled his promise to us by sending us the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of Truth, who gives born-again believers, disciples, and ambassadors an advantage over all of the schemes of the devil. In the past, God placed his anointing upon men and women which caused them to do great exploits in his name. In our generation, we should dance more mightily than David did when the Presence of God was carried before him in the Ark of the Covenant. Why? Because when we received the infilling of the Holy Ghost, we received the power to be an undeniable witness for the Lord. The Presence of God did not come onto us, but he came to live inside of us, filling our temples and now we are anointed to carry the Lord on the inside of us all of the time. Nothing can stop us from sharing the truth about what we have seen, and heard, and experienced with the Lord. And, yes, we know it.

In conclusion, let us be ready to give and answer to whoever asks us a reason for the celebration. It is the Holy Spirit who gives us our cause to celebrate the works of God. We are in covenant with God. Some works already have been done for us (on our behalf) by the Lord. Other works are currently being done (in us, through us, and by us) with the help of the Holy Spirit. We know and celebrate the work (or ministry) of the Lamb of God that took away the sins of the world, and at the the same time destroyed the rulership of Satan over the world. That work has already been done. However, we also must celebrate Christ’s work and ministry as the Restoring King. How? Through our beliefs, speech, and actions. God desires an increase of righteousness in the earth. Each of these celebrations depicts God’s desire to restore his will and his kingdom in the earth. Every born-again believer, disciple, ambassador, and witness is anointed to know the scriptural answer and response to why we celebrate these events… not just once a year, but each and every day of our lives. God bless you and Godspeed!
